About Us:

NW Wings Aviation is a Part 61 flight school based in Portland, Oregon, dedicated to creating a new generation of pilots. We provide a wide range of services, including flight training, SIC and PIC on demand, ferry aircraft services, and daily Adventure Sights tours above the scenic city of Portland. Our goal is to deliver high-quality training with an emphasis on safety and professionalism.

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) with or without an Instrument Instructor (CFII) rating to join our team. The ideal candidate should be committed to high safety standards and professional development, as well as excited about the opportunity to help students achieve their aviation goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide flight instruction to students in a safe, professional, and effective manner.

  • Conduct ground training sessions, pre-flight and post-flight briefings.

  • Prepare students for practical and knowledge tests per FAA Part 61 requirements.

  • Maintain detailed student records and ensure compliance with FAA regulations.

  • Participate in NW Wings Aviation promotional events.

  • Stay current with FAA regulations, industry trends, and best practices in flight instruction.

 

Qualifications:

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate (required)

  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) license (required)

  • Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument (CFII) rating (preferred but not required)

  • FAA Class 2 Medical Certificate or higher

  • Knowledge of Part 61 flight school regulations

  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills

  • Commitment to safety and professionalism

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with flight instruction in various aircraft types

  • Customer-focused with a positive attitude and a passion for teaching

  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles and student backgrounds

  • Strong understanding of aviation weather, aerodynamics, and FAA regulations
